Brant strode from his common room up the steps and on to the Ground floor. There he paused in thought. Where should he go next? Classes didn't start for another hour, and he wasn't feeling particularly hungry this morning. In fact, he was feeling rather tired. He'd known staying up until three this morning wasn't a good idea, but he hadn't been able to sleep much after the events of yesterday. He had received an owl from his father stating that he was to come home for his seventeenth birthday. Generally this wasn't permitted, but Brant's father was a very convincing man when it came to the education of his children. Brant remembered when his brother had gone home the day before his birthday and came back the day after terribly shaken, not that anybody had noticed other than Brant. Brant was good at noticing things of that nature. He was after all planning both of their demises. Yes, Brant was very ambitious.
With a sigh he meandered his way towards the Great hall in search of something to eat.

Clint stepped out of the Great Hall and brushed against a Slytherin on the way in. He vaguelly knew the boy and thought they might be in the same year, or nearly so. He also noted that the boy didn't look very cheerful. In fact, he was looking rather droopy. Clint thought about it for a moment before shrugging and turning around to walk after the boy.
"Is there something bothering you?" He asked pleasantly after tapping the boy gently on the shoulder.

Brant stared incredulously at the Gryffindor boy who had touched him. How dare he? Who did this boy think he was to touch a Slytherin? Especially this one? He shot the boy a steely glare before pointedly moving out of the Great Hall again. He had lost his appetite thanks to the boy. He rather thought he might go outside for a bit, or perhaps back to the common room. He was leaning more towards outside. Thinking curses towards the boy, he strode across the entrance halls.

Clint frowned as the Slytherin rudely strode out of the Great Hall. "That's rude!" He said indignantly after standing there a moment. He hurried to catch up with the rude Slytherin. "You're not going to eat breakfast?" He asked as he caught up.
"Besides, that was rude. You shouldn't be so rude you know. It's no wonder you haven't got any friends."

Heather watched the seen unfold before her. Her horror knew no bounds. The foolish Gryffindor apparently didn't either. It was quite clear that the Slytherin boy, whoever he was didn't want to speak to the Gryffindor. She hurried after the pair of them to intervene and scare off the idiot of a Gryffindor. "Excuse me." She said coldly after catching up with the Gryffindor. "I do believe he has made it quite clear that he does not wish to speak to you." She stared at him with an intense look. "It's rude forcing others to keep company with you!"

Brant stared in fascination as a random Slytherin came to his rescue. Him. As if he needed rescuing from an idiotic Gryffindor. He eyed her coldly for a moment.
"I do not appreciate you coming to my rescue." He said coldly. "I am quite capable of fighting my own battles thank you!"
He turned his attention back to the Gryffindor. "Why are you following me, Gryffindor? I do not want the pleasure of your company!"

Clint frowned at the girl who was interrupting them. "Excuse me." He remarked mildly, "but we are trying to hold an intelligent conversation. Please leave."
He almost laughed at the sheer annoyance evident in the other boy's tone. He was clearly unhappy to have been bothered, especially by his girl.
"You may not," He said calmly, "But I want to know what's bothering you. You clearly have something on your mind."

The nerve of him! She had been only trying to help him out. She wasn't interfering with his conversation or anything. She had been trying to save him from the irritating Gryffindor.
"You butt out." She said to the Gryffindor.
"Look, I wasn't trying to help you or anything, but it was obvious that he was bothering you." She jerked her thumb at the Gryffindor.

Brant could feel the sneer forming on his lips. The wretched girl was killing the name he'd painstakingly built for himself. Now the whole school would think he was incapable of getting rid of a bloody Gryffindor.
"Shut up!" He finally snapped, "both of you!" He glared at the impudent girl, Heather he thought her name might have been. "I do not need your help. The only thing you are doing is making things worse!" His gaze then snapped to the irritating Gryffindor. "I do not need your concern for my well-being. Now leave me alone! Both of you!"
