Professor Damian Drake swept out of his classroom in a flurry of robes. The last of his classes was over for the day and the stragglers had finally left for good. There were times when the good professor thought being smart was not necessarily a good thing. It drove professors up the wall having to spend the extra amount of time trapped in their classroom while students tried to show how truly brilliant they were. It rarely worked because there was a reason why they were students and not professors. The kid had been going on and on about the fundamentals of Irish folklore while forgetting two very important facts. Fae were not bound by mortal rules and they certainly didn't pretend to be. Of course, most wizards would likely argue their existance in the first place. Another reason why they were not professors of Mythology.
He realized with a groan that he could hear shouting down the hall and the unmistakable sounds of a duel echoing around the corridor. What have they done now? He wondered with exasperation as he walked down the hall to investigate.

Brant was mindlessly ambling along when he spotted his nemesis, Christian the idiot. An evil smirk glittered on his lips as he strode away from the small knot of 'friends' to stand in Christian's path. He smirked nastily as he said in a clear tone. "Well, if it isn't the stupid little Ravenclaw. How does it feel Christian being the only thick person in the house of brains?" He eagerly awaited the Ravenclaw's reply.

Christian was mindlessly traipsing through the halls, deftly avoiding clusters of students here and there. He was most perturbed when the hated Slytherin stepped into his path, thereby blocking his ascent up the floors. He frowned at the Slytherin. "Do you mind!" He snapped. "I'd prefer not getting detention thank you very much!"
Christian couldn't believe his ears. A student implying that he was an idiot! A Slytherin no less! You could fit the entire houses brains into a test tube. "Very refreshing actually." He answered. "I can get by with not doing my homework, after all."

Brant snickered nastily at the Ravenclaw's words. "Of course I mind. Why do you think I'm doing this?" He taunted cruelly. He cocked his head to the side in thought before replying. "I'm sure you wouldn't. However, I really don't care."
Brant sputtered incoherently a moment before responding to Christian's comment. "How on earth do you manage that?" He asked, forgetting temporarily that Christian was a straight O student.

Christian glared at the Slytherin. "Move." He ordered coldly as he stared at the Slytherin. He was beyond annoyed. He was getting pissed off at the constant harassment that the Slytherin regularly dumped on him. "I'm warning you, Dirks, I'm not in the mood for your crap at the moment."
"Quite simple." Christian glared at the Slytherin. "I bribe them."

Brant smirked as he stood right where he was. He could see that he was getting to the normally calm Ravenclaw. "What's wrong?" He taunted sarcastically, "can't stand a Slytherin getting in your way?"
A nasty grin formed on his face. "That's quite alright, because I'm more than happy to give you crap." He said nastily.
Brant snorted, he could tell when he was being led on. "Yeah right, you couldn't bribe anyone if your life depended on it."

"No," Christian spoke as if speaking to a five-year-old, "I can't stand people who lack the intelligence or the intuition to realize when they are dangerously close to being hexed." Christian snapped. One more comment and Dirks would be missing a few body parts.
That was the last straw. Christian refused to take this kind of crap. Especially now! "For your information, I'm quite good at bribing people!" He spat.

"Intelligence?" Brant sneered, "That's rich, coming from you! Might I remind you that it was you who decided to go into the Forbidden Forest, on a bet!" He snorted derisively. "You couldn't hex me if you tried!"
"Since when?" Brant demanded arrogantly. He yelped when he found that he suddenly couldn't move. Get out, quickly! Before he does something else! His mind screamed at him.
